Overview
The HIV/AIDS on the Front Line Conference is one of the oldest annual conferences focusing on HIV in the nation and is the premier conference serving the Southern California region. It is hosted by the Pacific AIDS Education & Training Center – Orange County & Inland Empire (PAETC – OCIE) at UCI Health, Division of Infectious Diseases in collaboration with the Orange County Health Care Agency. PAETC – OCIE is dedicated to enhancing providers’ knowledge, skills, and capacity to improve the quality of life for individuals living with HIV and preventing HIV for those at risk. The faculty will be comprised of national, regional, and local experts. Topics include practical clinical information for treatment as well as social determinants of health that are pertinent in HIV-related care. The planning committee consists of the PAETC – OCIE faculty, Orange County Health Care Agency HIV leadership, and HIV Community Based Organizations. The committee membership represents different disciplines and diversity that reflect the attendees.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe new and current advances in antiviral treatment for the care and prevention of patients with HIV or at risk for HIV.
  2. Recognize and address issues that affect the aging cohort of individuals with HIV such as cardiovascular disease, mental health, and drug use.
  3. Recognize and address emerging issues in sexually transmitted infections.

Accreditation
University of California, Irvine School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
