Overview
The 10th Annual UCHMC Research Symposium will include discussions regarding opportunities for collaboration across the UC system, application of novel therapies in hematologic malignancies and ongoing clinical trials currently being conducted by the UC Hematologic Malignancies Consortium. The objectives of this meeting are to gain an understanding of how basic research discoveries are being translated into clinical trials, gain a better understanding of best practice in the management of hematologic malignancies, and to become familiar with targeted and immunotherapeutic approaches for the treatment of hematologic malignancies. Physicians, mid-level practitioners, clinical trials staff, fellows, students, basic and translational scientists are encouraged to attend and participate. We are hopeful that this meeting will help (1) patients receive effective treatments, (2) develop innovative clinical trials and (3) spur new translational laboratory investigations within the UC system.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Translate how new drug discoveries in the lab can be applied in clinical trials.
  2. Design multi-center investigator initiated clinical trials based on presentations on UCHMC trials
  3. Identify the role of clinical trials in daily practice
  4. Discuss current developments in clinical care of patients with hematologic malignancies
