This activity focuses on cardiovascular disease, including stroke, in women. A personal story is followed by a discussion of prevention strategies with a focus on leveraging the EMR, pregnancy and reproductive risk stratification for future outcomes and a discussion of the use of low-dose aspirin to prevent preeclampsia. The live lecture for this recording occurred on 5.8.23.

MOC Approval Statement (ABIM Only):
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 1.75 Medical Knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

1. Identify pregnancy associated risk factors for cardiovascular disease in women and use these for risk stratification for future outcomes.
2. Understand low-dose aspirin is safe and effective in pregnancy and treat women at risk for preeclampsia with low-dose aspirin starting at 12 weeks gestation, based on one high-risk or two or more moderate-risk factors.
3. Implement innovations in blood pressure management and leverage the electronic medical record to prevent stroke in women.
