SafeFutures 2027: The International Conference on Evidence-Based Injury Prevention, Safety Promotion, and Trauma Care will be held February 24–26, 2027, at the UCI Student Center in Irvine, California. Hosted by the UCI Department of Emergency Medicine and the Center for Trauma and Injury Prevention Research (CTIPR), the conference will convene national and international leaders committed to reducing injuries and improving trauma care and outcomes. Guided by the theme “Towards Zero Fatal Injuries,” SafeFutures 2027 will address the full injury continuum, from policy and prevention to response, mitigation, and clinical care. Day 1 addresses policy, public health, and primary prevention; Day 2 addresses the critical window immediately before and after an injury event, including community response, EMS, and prehospital care. The accredited component of the SafeFutures 2027 Clinical Trauma Care Symposium will be held February 26, 2027. It is clinician-oriented, with emphasis on emergency department and in-hospital trauma care. Topics including abstract presentations will be on imaging and diagnostic stewardship, geriatric and pediatric trauma pathways, traumatic brain injury management, multidisciplinary care, quality improvement, recovery after injury, and simulation-based training. Days 1 and 2 of the conference are not accredited for CME. Attendees may register for the SafeFutures 2027 Clinical Trauma Care Symposium alone or for the full conference.

1. Apply current evidence-based approaches to emergency department management of the injured patient.
2. Describe best practices in in-hospital trauma care, from admission through definitive management.
3. Apply age-appropriate, evidence-based trauma pathways for geriatric patients.
4. Apply age-appropriate, evidence-based trauma pathways for pediatric patients.
5. Demonstrate trauma management skills through simulation-based training exercises.
6. Identify disparities that influence trauma-related outcomes and describe strategies to mitigate them through cultural and linguistic competency and equitable clinical care.

Registration

The early-bird registration fee is $340 per day for general attendees who register by December 23, 2026. Beginning December 24, 2026, the registration fee will increase to $400 per day.Late/on-site registration will include an additional $100 surcharge.

Registration includes breakfast, lunch, and two daily coffee breaks with snacks.

Abstract Author Discount: All authors of accepted abstracts will receive a 20% discount. This discount may be combined with the early-bird registration rate.

Abstract Submission Details: Abstract submission opened on August 15, 2026, and closes November 15, 2026. Acceptance notifications will be sent by December 15, 2026.

Refund Policy: Refund requests received by February 1, 2027, will be eligible for a refund of the amount paid, less a $100 administrative fee.
