Additional Resources: Orange County Equity Map
The OC Equity Map spotlights social and health disparities in Orange County neighborhoods. This interactive map visualizes 580 census tracts across the county and displays scores from the Social Progress Index (SPI), Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Health Indicators, and population demographic data. This tool allows our communities to identify what health inequities exist and where they are most felt, so we can work together to eliminate them.

Additional Resources: Harvard University: Project Implicit
The Implicit Association Test (IAT) measures attitudes and beliefs that people may be unwilling or unable to report. The IAT may be especially interesting if it shows that you have an implicit attitude that you did not know about. This website features tests that measure implicit biases related to social attitudes, as well as a new catalog of tests measuring implicit biases regarding health behaviors.

Additional Resources: NameCoach
NameCoach is a tool that allows you to include an audio recording of your name pronunciation within your email address and many other digital outlets. This can help create a sense of inclusivity and belonging, and help ensure that everyone feels acknowledged and respected. It also helps reduce anxiety that can come up around being uncertain how to pronounce someone’s name. The UCI license of NameCoach specifically allows faculty and students to integrate their audio recordings into Compass, as well as create global links to be used elsewhere, such as an email signature.
