The UCI Advances and Essentials in Cardiovascular Disease Program is designed to expand upon and fill knowledge gaps in cardiovascular disease management. Designed specifically for physicians, trainees, and other healthcare professionals, this two day comprehensive program delves into the latest issues at the heart of patient care and explores cutting-edge treatments and technologies.

1. Identify high-risk patients for SCD and apply appropriate therapies. Evaluate new technologies in VT ablation and PFA.
2. Apply echocardiographic techniques to assess diastolic function. Learn about utilizing cardiac CT and TEE in perioperative and other conditions.
3. List indications and contraindications for various cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and cardiovascular imaging procedures. Identify complications and their management.
4. Identify new methods for interventional cardiology procedures, the use of hemodynamic support devices, transcatheter valve repair/replacement, coronary stents, intravascular coronary physiology and echocardiography imaging.
5. Identify the use of support devices, pharmacological agents and organ transplant to manage advanced heart failure.
6. Discuss knowledge of cardiovascular care with a focus on expanding definitive therapies for improved cardiovascular outcomes, recognizing limitations, and expanding care to all members of the population.
