Overview
Primary immunodeficiency diseases (PID), also termed as Inborn errors of immunity (IEI) are not as rare as once considered. These disorders frequently present with recurrent infection (type of infections often suggest type of immune defects) affecting sinuses, lungs and GI tract, an often with allergies, autoimmune diseases (e.g. autoimmune cytopenia, autoimmune endocrine diseases, autoimmune neuropathy, and autoimmune rheumatological diseases), inflammatory diseases (including IBD and CD), and cancer. Various therapeutic measures include immunoglobulin replacement therapy, hematopoietic stem cells transplant, gene therapy and gene editing. These will be addressed by 9 faculty. Clinicians including internists, pediatricians, family practice, Infectious disease specialists, hematologists, pulmonologists, gastroenterologists, ENT specialists, rheumatologists and allergists would be benefited from this meeting. Ample time is slated for discussion.
